How Ramsey Industries Automated Warranty Extensions for Dealers

Ramsey Industries runs dealer warranty registration for Auto Crane, Ramsey Winch and Eskridge on Dyrect. The system validates serial numbers and verifies customers by email OTP. It also adds an automatic 18-month extension by ship date and lets dealers file claims for unregistered products.

Introduction

Ramsey Industries sells its products through authorized dealers, distributors and OEMs. Dealers register products for warranty on behalf of end customers.

Ramsey's warranty program sets coverage by ship date:

  • Most finished products shipped on or after March 1, 2026, carry an 18-month standard warranty.
  • Registering the product adds 18 more months, for 36 months of total coverage.
  • Products shipped before March 1, 2026, follow the earlier warranty terms.

To run the program, Ramsey needed a registration system that could do five things:

  • Validate each serial number
  • Verify each customer
  • Check each product's ship date
  • Apply the correct warranty automatically
  • Let dealers file claims for every product, registered or not

Dyrect built this system for all three Ramsey brands: Auto Crane, Ramsey Winch and Eskridge.

About Ramsey Industries

Ramsey Industries is a US manufacturer of lifting and drive equipment, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It operates three brands:

Its equipment serves the utility, towing and recovery, oil and gas, construction and mining markets. Products reach end users through Ramsey's network of authorized dealers, distributors and OEMs.

Challenges Ramsey Industries Faced Before Dyrect

  • Registration was driven by dealers. Dealers completed registrations for customers, so the registration flow had to work for a dealer entering many products, not for a single end customer.
  • Serial numbers needed validation. Only valid Ramsey serial numbers could qualify for warranty coverage.
  • Eligibility depended on the ship date. Every registration had to be checked against the March 1, 2026 cutoff to decide whether the 18-month extension applied.
  • Extensions had to be communicated. Customers needed written confirmation whenever an extension was added to their product.
  • Claims needed to work without a registration. Dealers had to be able to raise a claim for a product even when its warranty was never registered.

Why Ramsey Industries Needed Dyrect

Dealers needed one portal to register products and file claims for Auto Crane, Ramsey Winch and Eskridge.

Customers needed a verified warranty record and an email confirming any extension.

Ramsey's teams needed every registration, warranty policy, extension and claim in one admin portal.

What Dyrect Delivered for Ramsey Industries

Dealer Warranty Registration Portal

Dyrect built a dedicated registration portal for Ramsey's dealers. Each registration starts with the dealer entering the product's serial number.

Serial Number Verification

Dyrect checks each serial number against Ramsey's product records. If the serial number is valid, the portal fills in the product's details automatically. If it's invalid, the registration can't continue.

Email OTP Customer Verification

The dealer enters the customer's details in the portal. Dyrect sends a one-time password to the customer's email, and the customer confirms it to complete verification. Each registration is then tied to a confirmed customer email.

Automated Warranty Extension Rules

After verification, Dyrect reads the product's ship date and applies the matching workflow:

Ramsey's teams don't need to review any registration by hand to decide whether the extension applies.

Custom Warranty Extension Emails

When Dyrect applies the 18-month extension, the customer receives a custom email confirming it. Ramsey designed the email for its brands.

Centralized Warranty Administration Portal

Ramsey's teams use the Dyrect admin portal to view four things for every product:

  • Registration records
  • Warranty policies
  • Extension details
  • Coverage information

How Ramsey's Dealers Register a Product on Dyrect

  1. Enter the serial number. Dyrect validates it and fills in the product details.
  2. Enter the customer's details. The customer confirms them with an email OTP.
  3. Submit the registration. Dyrect checks the ship date and creates either a standard product registration or a warranty registration with the 18-month extension.
  4. Customer confirmation. For extended products, the customer receives the extension email.

How Ramsey's Dealers File a Warranty Claim on Dyrect

The File a Claim module sits inside the Dyrect dealer portal.

  1. Open File a Claim. The screen opens with a serial number search bar.
  2. Search by serial number. Dyrect returns a product card with the product image, model, serial number and registration status ("Product Registered" or "Not Registered").
  3. Select the product and fill in the claim form. For a registered product, the card also shows its warranty data.
  4. Submit the claim. Dyrect creates the claim, and Ramsey's teams receive it for review.

When the product is not registered, the dealer chooses between two options:

  • File a claim right away, using only the serial number
  • Register the product first, then continue with the claim

Dyrect marks claims for unregistered products, so Ramsey's teams can review them separately from claims for registered products.

Outcome

Ramsey Industries runs dealer warranty registration and dealer claims for Auto Crane, Ramsey Winch and Eskridge on Dyrect.

  • 3 brands on one dealer portal
  • Every serial number validated before registration
  • Product details filled in automatically from the serial number
  • Every customer verified by email OTP
  • 18-month extensions applied automatically for products shipped on or after March 1, 2026
  • Extension confirmation emails sent automatically
  • Claims filed for registered and unregistered products
  • Registrations, policies, extensions and coverage in one admin portal

Final Takeaway

Ramsey Industries uses Dyrect to turn each dealer registration into a validated, verified warranty record. The record carries the correct coverage for that product's ship date.

Dealers use one portal to register products and file claims across three brands. Customers receive email confirmation whenever an extension is added. Ramsey's teams see every registration, extension and claim in one place.

Every dealer registration now applies Ramsey's warranty rules automatically.
